Sixty-five unskilled unemployed persons were trained at vocational schools and enterprises. Consequently, 61 of them found a job. This is the result achieved within the pilot-program to train unemployed persons at the workplace in accordance with the labor market necessities that was implemented during the last nine months, IPN reports.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Cebotari, in a news conference on April 5, said at the start many were skeptical about this initiative, but the obtained results show it is opportune to extend the project nationwide. “This form of training at the workplace is welcome and needs to be promoted further. The young people who weren’t able to study and to find a job are now satisfied,” stated the minister.
Some 60% of those who registered with the local offices of the National Employment Agency do not have qualifications. “This measure is relevant for the labor market of the Republic of Moldova and deserves to be further promoted on a large scale,” stated the Agency’s director Raisa Dogaru.
The pilot-program covered two professions, of cook and of tailor, which have been in demand on the labor market during the last five years.
