The Romanian company Transgaz and the Moldovan company Vestmoldtransgaz today signed a cooperation agreement in the field of gas interconnection, IPN reports.

The document sets out the general principles of cooperation between the two operators of gas networks and transit systems, in particular with a view to advancing the project to interconnect the Romanian and Moldovan gas systems.

At a meeting of the Moldova-Romania Energy Working Group on August 24, the parties discussed a number of issues, including the regulation framework of the coordination investment group, project financing issues, and the creation of Transgaz's office in Chisinau.
