Students in the twelfth grade, who hold an international certificate of language competence can be exempted from semester tests in the foreign language during the winter session. The Ministry of Education and Research is to initiate public consultations on this topic, IPN reports with reference to a press release of the institution.
According to Minister Dan Perciun, following the requests formulated during discussions with students, the Ministry and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation are considering freeing from winter tests the twelfth graders with language competency certificates, whether it goes to English, German or French or other languages in which students can get the grade “10” in the Baccalaureate exam automatically if they obtain a result in an internationally recognized exam.
“I discussed with colleagues and I am glad that there is openness to exempt, starting next year, students who have TOEFL, IELTS, DALF, DEFL certificates and all those that exist today for the Baccalaureate exams from winter tests for the twelfth grade. It is good news for students and an additional stimulus, additional encouragement for those who want to obtain such certificates,” said Dan Perciun.
