Two Cameroonians and Moldovan accused of organizing illegal migration

Two citizens of Cameroon, together with a Moldovan native of Congo, will be tried for organizing illegal migration. The police finished the investigation and sent the case to court, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in August – November 2018, the three organized the entry, stay and illegal transit of Moldova for a number of persons from African states who headed for the EU in exchange for €6,000.

The persons were arrested at the Chisinau International Airport and at the Leușeni-Albița frontier post. The €1,000 seized during the arrest of one of the accused was confiscated.

If they are found guilty, the three will be fined at most 67,500 lei or will be jailed for five to seven years. They could also be obliged to pay about 40,000 lei court costs.
