Two candidates admitted to contest for Court of Accounts president

Two candidates were admitted to the interview stage of the contest to select a new president of the Court of Accounts. The applications of Tatiana Șevciuc and Marin Gospodarenco were examined and accepted by the Parliamentary Commission for the Control of Public Finances.

Three people applied for job, with one application being deemed incomplete. Both Marin Gospodarenco and Tatiana Şevciuc have experience in the field of public finance. Previously, they worked in the Court of Accounts. Marin Gospodarenco served as department head, and Tatiana Șevciuc in 2022 was appointed by Parliament as member of the Court of Accounts.

The candidate who will obtain the highest score will be proposed to Parliament for confirmation.

The president of the Court of Accounts is appointed by Parliament with a simple majority for a term of 5 years.

The new president will replace Marian Lupu.
