Two nine-year-old children were killed after they were crushed under the wheels of a car driven by an inebriated driver. The tragedy happened in Sofievca village of Taraclia district on Thursday, December 10. According to the Interior Ministry's press service, the children were returning from school and were struck by a VAZ driven by a 27 year-old-man under the influence. Another tragic accident happened in Borogani village of Leova district. A 29-year-old man driving a Mercedes E-200 lost control of the car and crashed violently into a tree. The driver died on the spot, while a passenger aged 30 was rushed to the Comrat district hospital in a serious condition. Three persons died and one was injured in the five traffic accidents that happened in Moldova on Thursday. The 2,839 road accidents that occurred this year resulted in 376 deaths and 2,813 persons hurt.
