Two men aged 20 and 40 got jail terms of 20 years and, respectively, 13 years and four months for cruelly killing a man in Florești town last April, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the main culprit and a friend of his went to the home of the man who separated from his female partner. The two waited for the man to return home from work and hit him with a cudgel until this fell unconscious. They then took he man to a wood situated nor far from Rădulenii Vechi village and set him on fire. The carbonized body was found by locals working in the fields in several hours of the commission of the crime.

Besides serving time in prison, the two will also have to pay 39,000 lei damage to the injured party. The sentences can be appalled to a higher court.
