Within two years, over 2,000 people in the villages of Risipeni and Bocsa, Falesti district, will have access to permanent water supply. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today visited Risipeni to inspect the work on the water supply system and recalled that one of the Government's objectives is to ensure access to safe water supply and to sanitation systems to all the people in the country by 2020 the latest.
According to a press release from the Government, Falesti is a district where water in most wells contains levels of fluorine that exceed by two or three times the standards for safe water.
The costs of the water supply system for the two villages are over 30 million lei, with the money being mostly offered by the National Regional Development Fund. The community also contributed, chipping in with 1.8 million lei.
The system, which will include a water treatment station, will supply water to over 800 households, 7 public institutions and 12 economic entities.
To manage and operate the water supply system, a utility will be established, which, according to Risipeni Mayor Gheorghe Rusu, will lead to the creation of 25 new jobs.
Later, it is planned to extend the system to a third village, Izvoare, to supply water to 2,000 other people.
