Two killed in yesterday's storm
A 14-year-old girl was killed yesterday when struck by lightning not far from her native village, while an eight-year-old boy fell off a bridge into the river and drowned.
Liliana Puscasu, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the girl from Fundurii-Vechi village of Glodeni district was in the fields at about 5pm. When the heavy storm began, she did not have where to shelter. Her family found her dead later.
The boy and his sister aged 10 from Casunca village of Floresti district started to run home when the storm broke. On a bridge, the boy slipped and fell in the whirling water. His sister sought help from the locals, who took the child out. But he was already dead.
