Two residents of Chisinau were caught in the act of taking money from a person for helping his female partner to get rid of a fine by influencing employees of the Botanica Prosecutor's Office, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC). The two asked €2,000 for their services. The man gave them €1,800 after informing the CCCEC and prosecutors. The marked money was found in a box under the driver's seat of a car that belonged to one of the two men. The men are now held at the CCCEC's remand unit. They are liable to a fine of up to 60,000 lei or up to six years' imprisonment for traffic of influence.
