Two residents of Drochia district were sentenced to 15 years behind bars each for killing a villager. Head of the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office Maria Vieru has told IPN that the men are aged 35 and 44 respectively, while the victim was 50.
In June 2011, the two had a quarrel with a man from their village, as a result of which they kicked him and hit him with a wooden cudgel until he died. In order to hide the crime, the culprits threw the body into a sewage well. The body was discovered the next day by locals, who informed the police.
The sentence is not yet definitive.
