Two men have been sentenced to six years in jail for robbery and illegal crossing of the state border. They robbed a casino in Chisinau and then crossed the Prut River and fled to Italy. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the men wanted to go to Italy for a long while. As they had no money, they decided to steal it. Three of them got an electroshock device and, in January 2010, went to a casino in Chisinau. With the help of an accomplice, an employee of the security company protecting the casino, they stole two mobile phones and 13,000 lei. The other young men are still wanted. The prosecutors are running a separate investigation to identify their whereabouts. The sentence can be appeal according to the law.
