Two mini-football fields situated on Academiei St and Cuza-Vodă Blvd in Chisinau were inaugurated on June 20 after modernization. Artificial grass was laid on the pitches intended for mini-football and basketball and for volleyball as well if a net is placed there. Nocturnal lighting was also set up there.

Vasile Efros, head of the Territorial Development and Cleanup Section of the Public Amenities Division, has told IPN that three more renovated areas of play will be inaugurated in the nearest future – another one on Cuza-Vodă Blvd and two on Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd. In Chisinau, there are another over 100 sportsgrounds that need to be refurbished.

The two inaugurated pitches could be used by all those who want to play sports. During the summer vacation, children from community centers of Chisinau will also spend time there.

The works to renovate five playing fields cost 4.1 million lei. The money was allocated from the municipal budget.
