Two Moldovans arrested with cherries in Chisinau – Moscow train

Two citizens of Moldova were stopped at the customs post Volodarsk with cherries that they intended to smuggle into Russia, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Bryansk Customs Administration. The Moldovans transported the cherries by the Chisinau – Moscow train. According to the customs authorities, the Moldovans intended to take 140 kilograms of cherries into Russia without paying customs duties and without having compliance certificates. The two will be held accountable in accordance with the Administrative Code of Russia. The customs authority specifies that the cherries are products subject to phytosanitary quarantine, which can be imported to Russia based on a standard phytosanitary certificate that is issued by the competent inspection services.
