Two more children fall from height

Two children living at different addresses on Calea Orheiului St in Chisinau fell from the second flood of two apartment buildings. Maria Shamatailo, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the first case happened on July 31. A two-year-old girl fell when she was left without supervision near the open window. She was rushed to Valentin Ignatenco Hopsital. Doctors say her condition is serious, but stable. The recuperation period will be long. The child suffered a concussion and multiple fractures. A boy aged one year and four months also fell through the open window from the second floor. His fall was cushioned by the vine growing nearby. The boy sustained a concussion and facial injuries and was admitted to the same hospital. During the last two months, the Chisinau Ambulance Service reported five cases of children falling from height. A fatal case occurred on June 12 on Alecu Russo St. Remaining without supervision for a while, the child of only one year and a half went up the window, pushed the mosquito net and fell from the eighth floor. He died on the spot. Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service responded to 766 calls, dealing with 79 cases of acute viral infection, 98 cases of trauma, eight strokes, a heart attack and 24 deliveries. A baby girl of about 4 kilograms was born in an outhouse. The 26-year-old mother confused the delivery pains with stomachaches and went to the toilet, giving birth there.
