Two more persons suspected of being infected with pandemic flu virus

A five-year-old child and a man aged 29, who have recently come from Turkey and, respectively, Portugal, are suspected of having the A (H1N1) flu virus, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Center of Preventive Medicine. According to the quoted source, 31 suspect cases have been reported by August 4. In 28 cases, the laboratory tests showed that the virus was not present. In two cases, the presence of the virus was confirmed, while one case is yet being examined. Influenza A (H1N1) virus is a subtype of influenza virus A and the most common cause of flu in humans. The virus can be avoided if simple hygiene rules are observed, such as washing the hands with soap frequently, using hydroalcoholic gels, avoiding crowded places, covering the nose and mouth with a handkerchief when a person coughs or sneezes nearby. Two A (H1N1) flu virus cases have been discovered in Moldova so far: in a 24-year-old woman and a girl aged one year and a half. Both of then have received treatment and are now out of danger.
