Petru Budurin, the deputy head of Chisinau's Centru district, and Valeriu Tudose, the manager of the municipal enterprise for public amenities in the same district, will be discharged from their offices for misuse of authority, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca told the City Hall's meeting on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Collateral abuse of municipal authority will also be sanctioned, the mayor promised. Talking about the case of Petru Budurin, the mayor recalled that the official had been discharged for similar conducts in 2007, but was reinstated by court order. This time the deputy head of Centru district is accused of using his authority as a municipal official to dispose of construction garbage from his property for free. “While being in my office, Mr Budurin recognized that he broke the law and asked me to forgive him. But when I told him to give explanations in writing, he gave me a notification where he stated he had ordered the disposal of that garbage from public property”, said Chirtoaca, adding that the persons who offered Budurin the waste collection vehicles would also be sanctioned. In the case of Valeriu Tudose, Chirtoaca said the official used public money to buy tires and fuel for the personal cars of his employees. The cases were discovered by a municipal commission during a recent inspection.
