Two persons perish in fire in Rezina district

Two persons died in a home fire in Cinișeuți village of Rezina district last night. The flames engulfed a house almost fully. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the fire started in the door of to the stove, IPN reports.

The firemen found the carbonized body of a man aged 63 in an annex to the house and the body of 59-year-old woman, who allegedly poisoned by fumes, in the house.

Asked by IPN to provide details, mayor of the village Mariana Korchevoi said the family was a vulnerable one and was put on the list of recipients of smoke detectors that are provided free of charge as part of the national program, but these haven’t been installed yet.

Press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Puşcanu said the authorities are to install smoke detectors in Cinișeuți village next month.

According to the Inspectorate, the over 1,500 fires that occurred in Moldova so far this year resulted in more than 100 deaths.
