The Superior Council of Magistracy on March 14 unanimously voted for repeatedly fielding two candidates for the post of judge at the Chisinau Appeals Courts to President Igor Dodon after they were previously rejected. These are judges Ion Bulhac and Igor Manascurta, IPN reports.
According to an informative note presented by the judicial instructor, no violations in work or suspicions that would prevent his appointment were identified in the case of Ion Bulhac. The judge was checked for integrity and was accepted as compatible with the post of judge. Also, the Security and Intelligence Service gave a positive appraisal of him.
No incompatibility with the post of judge was detected in the case of Igor Manascurta as well. This has worked for 19 years in the field and holds a diploma of honor from the Superior Council of Magistracy.
Under the Law on the Status of Judge, the Head of State can reject a candidate proposed by the Superior Council of Magistracy for the post of judge only once and only if there is incontestable evidence showing that this is incompatible with the given post.
