The ambulance doctors Sunday recorded 1,189 calls, which is twice higher than the norm of 650, the head of the Chisinau Emergency Medical Station Liviu Vovc has told Info-Prim Neo. According to the quoted source, the higher number of calls is due to the panic among the population as regards pandemic flu and the colder weather that caused more viral infections. Liviu Vovc said that 225 patients were admitted to the hospital on Sunday, December 13. Two persons suffered myocardial infarctions, while six persons – cerebral vascular accidents. There were recorded 396 cases of viral infections and 117 suspect cases of pandemic influenza.
