Two vehicles catch fire at cement plant

A fire broke out on the territory of the Rybnitsa cement plant after a gas pipeline cracked. Two units of transport parked nearby caught fire. Alexandru Oprea, deputy head of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the flames were about ten meters in height, but the strong wind blew them several times down and the Mazda and a bulldozer that were nearby caught fire. The flame disappeared when the gas supply was stopped. The firefighters dealt with the two burning vehicles. A 48-year-old woman suffered second-degree hand injuries when she was trying to put out a fire that broke out at the balcony of her apartment located on Miron Costin St in Chisinau. Allegedly, the fire was caused by a burning cigarette thrown from an upper story. An Opel-Astra was completely destroyed in a fire caused by a short circuit. The owner of the car from Dezghingea village of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia estimated the damage at 26,000 lei. The 719 fires that happened in Moldova since the start of this year resulted in 91 deaths.
