The Prosecutor’s Office sent to court the case opened against two young men aged 18 suspected of stealing a car, blackmail, theft and drug distribution, Info-Prim Neo reports. In May this year, the two men stole a W-Passat B 5 in Chisinau’s Ciocana district while under the influence. The car was valued at over 106,000 lei, the Prosecutor General’s Office says in a communiqué. On the same day, they blackmailed the car’s owner into giving them money. They punched him several times, threatened him with death and asked 20,000 lei in exchange for the car. The young men stole a mobile phone worth 2,500 lei, 10 lei and an MP 3 player from the car. One of the men had a box for matches with marijuana on him when arrested. During only two days, the two men had committed four offences and are liable to heavy jail sentences.
