An unauthorized garbage dump in Pănășești commune of Strășeni district is in the process of being transformed into a green park. Land recultivation and rehabilitation works started there. A 70-acre plot of land, which for many years was the site of an unauthorized garbage dump, will become a place of recreation for locals, IPN reports.
“This project, with an estimated value of approximately 5 million lei, is financed with money from the National Environmental Fund and is an example of the Government’s commitment to revitalize degraded land and create functional green spaces for communities. The transformation of this lot into a park will contribute to increasing the quality of life in Pănășești and to improving the local environment,” said Minister of Environment Sergiu Lazarencu, who paid a visit to the commune.
The official reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for the development and implementation of such projects, stressing that they are essential to ensure sustainable development and a healthy environment.
