UNDP has launched public bidding contests to procure life-saving medicines intended for beneficiaries of national health programs. For the porpoise, the organization will allocate about 80 million lei. The first vital medicines and medical products will be delivered to health facilities by end-March, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry of Health.
The medicines and consumables will be used this year for diagnosing, preventing and treating HIV/AIDS, syphilis, gonococcocal infections, tuberculosis, cholera, mental disorders, diabetes and such rare diseases as beta thalassemia and pituitary insufficiency.
Also, the beneficiaries of transplant will get immunosuppressive drugs, while the Blood Transfusion Center will be provided with reagents, tests and consumables. UNDP procures the medicines and consumables based on an agreement signed with the Ministry of Health at the start of 2017.
Almost 1.5 million people benefit from free treatment within the national health programs.
