A Methodological Consultative Vaccination Center was inaugurated at the Mother and Child Institute to ensure the vaccination of children across the country, including refugees from Ukraine, and inform the parents about the importance of vaccination. The team of pediatricians, immunologists and nurses will deal with challenges in the field of immunization and will actively participate in the working out of scientific research programs on immunization, with the involvement of national and foreign medical institutions, IPN reports.
Investments in repair and equipment amounted to approximately 750,000 lei, financial resources allocated from the budget of the Mother and Child Institute and UNICEF.
In a press release, the Ministry of Health notes that vaccination is one of the most effective and safest ways to prevent infectious diseases, which contributes to improving the quality of life for millions of people. By 2027, the Ministry of Health aims to achieve a national vaccination coverage rate of up to 95%, a goal outlined in the National Vaccination Program 2023 - 2027.
In the Republic of Moldova, vaccination is ensured by the state, with free access to immunization services against 13 infections included in the national vaccination calendar.
