Union Council calls to march

The Union Council invites the people to take part in the activities dedicated to the Union Day that will be carried out in a number of settlements the next days, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on March 23, the chairwoman of the National Liberal Party Vitalia Pavlichenko, who is a member of the Council, said the PNL and the Union Council on March 25 will take part in the Union March in Chisinau, alongside the civic platform “Action 2012”, which is the main organizer of the event. The march will set off from the square of the Academy of Sciences at 4pm. The route is as follows: Stefan cel Mare Blvd. – Pushkin St towards the Embassy of Romania – Bucuresti St – Banulescu-Bodoni St – Stefan cel Mare Blvd. The march will end in the square of the National Opera House, where the participants will dance the Union Round Dance. Unionist activities will be also performed in other settlements of the country. A protest will be held at the Summer Theater in Balti municipality on March 24, starting at 10am. The same day, marches will be mounted in Ungheni, Falesti, Hancesti and Orhei towns. Also on March 24, a delegation of the Union Council will take part in the Union Day activities staged in Romania’s Bacau, at the invitation of the Association of Refugees from Bessarabia, Northern Bucovina and Hertsa Region. Related events will be held at the National Library and “Alba Iulia” Library in Chisinau on March 27. They will involve such invitees from Romania as poet Ana Blandiana and mayor of Alba Iulia Mircea Hava. A festive meeting and a concert with the participation n of the Democratic Forum of Romanians and the Union Council will take place the same day at “Ginta Latina” Theater, starting at 5pm. The members of the Union Council called on the priests and bishops to hold services in memory of the deputies of the Country’s Council who voted for Bessarabia’s union with Romania in 1918 and of the deceased members of Parliament who voted for Moldova’s independence from the USSR in 1991. Vitalia Pavlichenko asked the police in Chisinau and other settlements to ensure the security of the participants in the events. The Union Council is a nongovernmental organization founded on February 29, 2009. The foundation statement was signed by the members of the Council of the National Union of 1991 together with representatives of different Moldovan, Romanian and Italian institutions and organizations. The Union Council stages activities aimed at sensitizing society and promoting unionist ideas.
