By at most 2,000 tests for COVID-19 could be performed in Moldova daily at the laboratory of the National Public Health Agency and at private labs during the next few days, President Igor Dodon was quoted by IPN as saying after the April 2 meeting of the Single Command Center.

President Dodon said the accredited lab of the National Public Health Agency can daily perform by 600-700 tests. The laboratory in Bălți, which has a capacity of 100 tests a day, will start to work soon. The private labs can do by 800 tests a day.

The official noted that Moldova has now more than 13,000 test kits available and the 100,000 test kits purchased from China will arrive next week.

As many as 505 people have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Moldova so far. The death toll from COVID-19 rose to six.
