U.S Embassy in Chisinau provides details about visa issuing

The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau announces that its Consular Section continues to process immigrant visas, adoption and emergency nonimmigrant visas as a matter of urgency, even if the Consular Consolidated Database does not yet work at full capacity. The Consular Section issues visas in these cases with insignificant delays, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the U.S. Embassy, almost all the passports are issued according to the usual service standards, despite the experienced system problems. The passports for urgent trips are issued without delay. The consular section is working according to the usual regime. For additional information, one can access the Embassy’s official website on visas, working hours and appointments for services provided to U.S citizens and on nonimmigrant visa applications in August.

In a move to improve the system and remove the previous functioning-related problems, the U. S. Department of State updated its software according to the recommendations in the field. Serious functioning problems in the Consular Consolidated Database appeared shortly after the updating. Staring with July 20, effort has been made to restore the system to its previous capacity. On July 23, the system started work online at reduced capacity.
