U.S. hopes negotiations on constitution of new Government will end soon

U.S. Ambassador in Chisinau James Pettit assured that the United States will continue to implement the assistance programs intended for Moldova and voiced hope that the interim Government will work for a short period, while the negotiations on the constitution of the new Government will end as soon as possible so as to fulfill the commitments assumed before the foreign partners. The diplomat made statements in a meeting with acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the interlocutors underlined the necessity of holding the next Moldova - U.S. meeting between the coordinators of the Strategic Dialogue, which is set to take place in Washington this September.

The officials exchanged opinions on the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, including the developments in the region, and emphasized the constructive role played by the U.S. in the negotiation process and in implementing the measures to build confidence between both banks of the Nistru.
