The Liberal candidate for mayoralty Valeriu Munteanu said most of the candidates for mayor of Chisinau do not have a strategy for the capital city and presented mainly programs typical of a contest to fill a public post at a municipal enterprise, IPN reports.
Valeriu Munteanu said none of his opponents proposes reforms that would enable Chisinau to reach the status of any other European city. None of them wants local self-government and financial autonomy. Even if they claim they represent opposite political forces, with different doctrines and different geopolitical vectors, three candidates – Silvia Radu, Ion Ceban and Andrei Nastase – have similar programs.
The candidate also said that after he announced that his program envisions the transfer of the Chisinau Internationals Airport from the Ministry of Economy to the Chisinau City Hall and then the annulment of the concession contract, Ion Ceban and Andrei Nastase presented again their candidacies for the reason that they launched their programs. Not accidentally, the programs of both of the candidates contain provisions concerning the airport.
As to Silvia Radu’s program, Valeriu Munteanu said the only thing that can be remembered is that she intends to clean up the parks. The program of Ion Ceban shows he will discharge functionaries based on ethnical criteria and will bring Russian speakers and that he wants to separate the 18 suburban communities from Chisinau. Andrei Nastase is the most non-European candidate who shows he is not aware of the affairs in the capital city.
