At its 4th edition, Velo Hora has become a festival. Organizers say that this year they prepared many surprises so that the event would truly be one for the whole family. This year, about 10,000 participants are expected, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ana Mogaldea, spokeswoman of the Velo Hora Festival, communicated about the planned events. There will be two contests for children: drawing on asphalt and funny starts on tricycles. For the first time, a Velo Yard Sale will be organized, where people will be able to buy accessories for their bikes. A pool with 7 tonnes of water will be organized in the Great National Assembly Square. Participants and guests will bring various parts of bikes, which will be used to build a bicycle that will be donated to an orphanage. Another event organized for the first time will be Velo Garage –an exhibition of bikes and parts. The traditional bike race will take place on the same 20 km route as in previous years. One of the organizers’ conditions is that minors under 14 cannot participate without being attended by adults. Another surprise will be the concert of local bands Zdob si Zdub and Cuibul. Besides, a lottery will be organized where the participants in the race will have a chance to win professional bicycles. The registration of participants will begin at 9 AM on Sunday, September 23. The race will start at 12 AM and the concert at 2 PM.
