Victory for Moldovan handball

ULIM-Alexia Chisinau advanced to the third qualifying round of the EHF Men's Cup Winners' Cup after defeating the Bulgarian team Dobrudja, 38-20, in the second leg of their encounter, Info-Prim Neo reports. ULIM-Alexia won the first leg on foreign ground 32-25. This marks the first time when a Moldovan team advances so high in a European interclub competition. The best scorer for the hosts was Artiom Juravliov, who scored 19 goals in both matches. “Now Europe knows that Moldova plays good handball too. This victory will contribute to the development of this sport in Moldova”, said Artiom Juravliov. In the third qualification round, ULIM-Alexia will play the Russian team Kaustik Volgograd. The first match will be held in Chisinau at the end of November and the second leg in Volgograd on December 3 or 4. The EHF Cup Winners' Cup is an annual official competition for men's and women's clubs of Europe that won their national cup.
