Victory March will be transferred from May 9 to August 24

The Victory March and the festive concert dedicated to the Victory Day, which were traditionally held on May 9, will be transferred to August 24, IPN reports.

In a posting on Facebook, President Igor Dodon said the decision was influenced by the crisis situation experienced at present and by the restrictions imposed by the authorities on the events that involve many people.

In a meeting at the Presidential Office, it was decided that a number of activities agreed earlier will be yet carried out. These include the restoration and laying out of memorial complexes, cleaning up of military cemeteries, visiting and congratulation of veterans at home, laying of wreaths by the senior state officials on May 9.

On May 9, alongside the Victory Day, Moldova also celebrates Europe Day.
