The VAT difference for the delivery of own phytotechny and horticulture products will be refunded to agricultural producers within 30 days of the filing of the application. The violation of the terms will be penalized, Info-Prim Neo reports. Until 2013, the VAT was 8%. On January 1, it rose to 20%, and 12% of it is paid back to the farmers. Under the regulations concerning the refunding of VAT, approved by the Government, 12 days of the 30 will be for carrying out fiscal inspections and adopting the refunding decision, while 17 days will be for refunding the VAT. The same terms were set for the delivery of own animal products. The VAT in the case of capital investments in motor vehicles for transporting minimum 22 persons will be also refunded within 30 days. The regulations also provide penalties for high-ranking officials from the fiscal institutions involved in the refunding of the VAT difference, if the terms are not respected. The fines are of up to 10,000 lei.
