Viorel Bologan knocked out of World Chess Cup
Moldovan chess player Viorel Bologan was eliminated Sunday from the third round of the World Chess Cup that is taking place in the Russian town of Khanty-Mansiisk, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Great International Master was beaten by Viktor Laznicka from the Czech Republic by 3.5-1.5 after playing three additional games.
In the first two round, Bologan defeated Egypt's Ahmed Adly and Bulgaria's Ivan Cheparinov.
The World Cup brought together 128 chess players from 40 countries.
