The man from Volovita village of Soroca district who punched in the head and killed a child younger than two was sentenced to 12 years in prison. The incident happened five months ago. The boy aged one year and seven months was in the care of the man’s family. His mother was working abroad. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the prosecutor of Soroca district Serghei Cebotari said it was established that the man hit the child intentionally because he did not obey him. The boy suffered a closed cranial-cerebral trauma, which turned out to be fatal. The medical-legal examination showed the boy had been beaten earlier as well. The man confessed that he got angry because the child was crying and did not want to sit on the potty. He said yet that he did not intend to hit him so severely. The child was projected into the stove and then fell and hit his head on the threshold. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
