Voronin - witness in legal case related to Valeriu Boboc's death

Former head of state Vladimir Voronin was questioned as a witness in the case concerning Valeriu Boboc's death today, April 2. The Communists Party's jurist Sergiu Sarbu told Info-Prim Neo that Vladimir Voronin was cited to appear before the prosecutors to give testimony after he said that Valeriu Boboc was thrown out of a window of the Parliament Building, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Vladimir Voronin was summoned to give details on this subject. During a televised program, he said he was informed by the Ministry of the Interior that somebody fell out of a floor of the Parliament,” Sergiu Sarbu said. The leader of the Communists Party was quizzed today at 10.30, not at 14.00 as the Prosecutor Generals' Office announced. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca was questioned in the same case today. He said he spoke with Damian Hancu, one of the young people who were near Valeriu Boboc on the night when he died, over the phone. Hancu studies in France and will come to Chisinau to give testimony. The rerun medical examination showed that Valeriu Boboc died as a result of the injuries he received. The young man's family says he was beaten to death by the police. Yesterday, Dorin Chirtoaca made public videos showing police officers beating a man in the central square in Chisinau on the night of April 8. Afterward, that man, who seems dead, was taken away by a car. The mayor said the man might be Valeriu Boboc.
