Voters can declare their new place of residence until September 25

The persons who changed their place of residence after the last participation in elections can declare their new place of residence to the local public authorities in order to be registered on the voter list at the polling station corresponding to the place of stay, IPN reports.

The Central Election Commission said that, through this procedure, the voter will be registered in the basic electoral rolls, corresponding to the place of stay, with the mention “Declaration of residence”, in the section “Note”. At the same time, the voter will be automatically removed from the electoral list where he/she has his/her domicile or valid temporary residence.

When submitting the declaration, the voter will present the identity document for confirmation. The registrar will make the necessary mentions in the State Register of Voters and will issue a ticket confirming the declaring of the new place of residence.

The deadline for submitting declarations is no later than 25 days before election day, i.e. September 25 inclusive.

The declarations submitted for the previous elections are not valid.

On October 20, the Republic of Moldova will hold a presidential election and a constitutional referendum on Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
