The voting booths and ballot boxes for the parliamentary elections of this autumn will be standardized. Secretary of the Central Election Commission Andrei Volentir has told IPN that the project is implemented with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program.
The facilities that will be purchased within this project will arrive in Chisinau in a month. They will be kept at a special storehouse, from where the local public authorities will distribute them to settlements.
The voting booths will be of opaque plastic and will have the form of the Creek letter “П”. They will be placed with the face towards the wall, with an area being left for movement.
The boxes will have the form of trapezoidal parallelepiped. They will be of gray, matte, semitransparent plastic. The seals will be of plastic. Each of them will have a unique serial number. Andrei Volentir said the seals can be removed only by damaging them.
The ballot boxes will have a capacity of 80 liters and 45 liters, depending on the number of voters. The mobile ballot box will be of 27 liters.
