Warning: Wolves from Romania and Ukraine migrated to southern and northern Moldova
Packs of wolves migrated from Romania and Ukraine and horrify villages in southern and northern Moldova. The Ministry of the Interior will set up specialized groups that will carry out raids in the settlements. If need be, the animals will be shot, the head of the Ministry’s Public Order Division Nicolae Macovei told a news conference.
According to the Ministry, the wolves in Slobozia-Magure village of Sangerei district killed 18 sheep, while in Basarabeasca – another 40. “There is risk that the wolves will start to attack people. We warn that it is very dangerous to be near forests,” Nicolae Macovei said.
The five groups that will be created by the Ministry will inspect five villages in southern Moldova and seven villages in the north of the country.
