A fire apparently ignited by playing children destroyed seventeen hectares of wheat Thursday, the Service of Civil Protection and Emergencies reported. Another fire was reported in Bogdanovca Noua village, Cimislia district, and another one in Abaclia village, Basarabeasca district. The Service of Civil Protection and Emergencies also reported that the same day a 50-year-old man drowned in a pond near the village of Larguta in Cantemir district. The help of divers was needed to pull the man's body out of the water.
