An apartment situated on the 24th floor of a block of the buildings known as the City’s Gate in Botanica district of Chisinau caught fire. The firefighters found the carbonized body of a woman in the apartment. Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcanu has told Info-Prim Neo that the call to 901 was made at 14.40. The firefighters struggled to contain the fire for almost an hour. The cause of fire has not been yet established. The circumstances are being examined. The woman aged 65 lived alone. The 685 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 64 deaths. Five of the victims were children.
