Women trade unionists from villages seek better public services

A group of women trade unionists from rural areas gathered in front of the Parliament Building and demanded that the legislative body improved the services guaranteed by the state, stopped the rise in drug prices and ensured access to medial services of a high quality. They made a call to the MPs, asking fulfilling their demands during a month. Otherwise, they will stage protests, IPN reports.

The head of the women’s organization of the National Federation of Agriculture and Food Industry Trade Union “Agroindsind” Daria Bostan said the pension is very small and should be increased to 1,700 lei. “We are against the privatization of the medical institutions and the liquidation of district hospitals” she stated.

The head of the “Agroindsind” filed office in Ungheni Larisa Lupu said the women from villages are not motivated to give birth. The childcare allowance should be increased. Many women suffer from terminal diseases because they do not have access to and money for medical services of a high quality.

The women called on the lawmakers to hear the ordinary people who chose them to represent their interests. A similar call will be made to the Cabinet.
