Work&Travel students will get loans, but fewer jobs
This year, American sponsors and employers will offer fewer places for the Moldovan students applying for jobs under the programs of Work&Travel Company. However, for the first time, they will be able to obtain a bank loan, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The announcement was made by Acord Travel Agency, member of Work&Travel Company, on their official site. Local agencies will be periodically and carefully controlled. Agencies whose activity is deemed unsatisfactory will be closed and removed from the list of recruiting companies.
“Last year, there were some problems with several agencies. There was one job indicated in the contract, and when students arrived there, they got a different job. If employers offer fewer jobs and agencies are controlled, then programs will be safer”, said student Dumitru Hariuc, an applicant.
At the same time, Work&Travel started cooperating with several Moldovan banks to offer loans to students. They can get loans of up to 30,000 lei for 12 months, with an annual interest of 18%.
“It’s great we get help from banks. Many students don’t have the money to pay taxes for going to USA and give up. Now, we can apply at local Work&Travel agencies, without any financial problems”, said Alexandru Ciobanu, who applied for a job in USA this year.
Authorities will demand American sponsors to guarantee 100% of the job contract offered to Moldovan students, according to Acord Travel official site.
