Young man faces up to three years in prison for traffic of influence
A 26-year-old man asked for €3 000 from a person accused of swindle for helping him escape imprisonment as he had influence over employees of the Cantemir Police Commissariat and Prosecutor’s Office, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Anticorruption Center, the young man was arrested on the territory of a filling station not far from the Cantemir Bus Terminal. Anticorruption officers found €3 000 marked ‘bribe’ in the man’s pocket.
The suspect faces a fine of 10 000 to 30 000 lei or up to three years in jail.
Since the start of this year, the Anticorruption Center has investigated seven cases of traffic of influence.
