A 24-year-old woman was saved from drowning by lifeguards in “Valea Morilor” Park of Chisinau. The woman went into the water and after some time was unable to get out on her own, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said that the incident was reported on the afternoon of February 18. Lifeguards noticed the young woman and pulled her out of the water at a distance of about eight meters from the shore. In a conscious state, she was handed over to an ambulance crew and was transported to the hospital for being offered medical care.
The Inspectorate urges the people to take responsibility for their lives and the lives of others when they are near lakes and rivers in order to avoid drowning. At the same time, specialists warn that being in close proximity to water bodies becomes dangerous, especially when ice bridges form on the water of lakes and temperatures oscillate between minus and plus. In situations of risk, the people are asked to urgently call the 112 Service.
