“Zdob si Zdub” collects rapturous applause in Eurovision semifinal

The band “Zdob si Zdub” will compete in the 2011 Eurovision final with the song “So lucky”. The public liked the performance of the Moldovan singers and gave them ecstatic applause in the second semifinal on Thursday, May 12. Moldova’s neighbors Romania and Ukraine also made it through to Saturday’s grand final that will involve 25 countries, Info-Prim Neo reports. The countries that will compete in the grand final are: 1. Estonia - Getter Jaani “Rockefeller Street” 2. Romania - Hotel FM “Change” 3. Moldova - Zdob si Zdub “So Lucky” 4. Ireland - Jedward “Lipstick” 5. Bosnia and Herzegovina - Dino Merlin “Love in Rewind” 6. Denmark - A Friend In London “New Tomorrow” 7. Austria - Nadine Beiler “The Secret Is Love” 8. Ukraine - Mika Newton “Angels” 9. Slovenia - Maja Keuc “No One” 10. Sweden - Eric Saade “Popular” The Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Israel, Belarus, and Latvia failed to qualify for the grand final. ”Zdob si Zdub” also represented Moldova at Eurovision in 2005, when they finished sixth.
