Zimbru outraged by Dacia's match-rigging allegations
The Zimbru leadership said they are outraged by the allegations made by Dacia's boss Adlan Shishkanov that referees had been bribed to influence a negative outcome for Dacia in the match against CSCA-Rapid on May 8, which ended in a 2-2 draw. As a result Dacia slipped to the fifth spot in the National Division table, just below Zimbru.
“The allegations are unfounded and the actions of Adlan Shishkanov irresponsible”, Zimbru said in a statement.
The Zimbru leadership asked Dacia for a retraction and public apologies, saying they would press charges for slander if Shishkanov's club failed to do so.
Infuriated by how the referees judged the match against CSCA-Rapid, Shishkanov forbade his players to play for the Moldovan national team, a decision which could result in fines from the Moldovan Football Federation.
