Energy Ministry discusses need for external support to overcome energy crisis

The issue of energy security and the need for support in overcoming the crisis were discussed at a meeting between Minister Victor Parlicov and US Chargé d'Affaires Kevin Covert, IPN reports.

The Energy Ministry informs in a press release that the dignitaries analyzed the authorities' estimates on the financial support needed from Western partners to manage a possible regional energy crisis.

The American official expressed the support of the United States of America for the Republic of Moldova in the context of the current energy crisis and appreciated the Energy Ministry's vision for the development of the energy sector.

The Energy Ministry notes that the prospects for supplying the population on the left bank of the Dniester with energy resources in case the Russian concern Gazprom fails to honor its contractual obligations after January 1, 2025, when the transit contract on the territory of Ukraine expires.
