The disposable incomes of the population last year grew by 6.2% on a year before to 2,383 lei on average a month per person, IPN reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the salary is the most important source of income that accounted for 43.7% of the total incomes, which is an increase of 0.6 percentage points on 2017. The social benefits are the second source of income by importance. These represented 24.7% of the average monthly incomes of the population. They are followed by individual activities that constituted 12.7% of the average monthly incomes. Remittances from abroad remain a significant source for the budget of households. They represented 15.0% on average of the revenues, a decrease of 1.5 percentage points on 2017.
The incomes of the urban population were by 773 lei on average higher than the incomes of the rural population. Compared with the urban population, the rural one depends on transfers from outside to a greater extent. These accounted for 20.4% of the revenues, as opposed to 10% in the case of the urban population.
The average monthly consumption costs of the population in 2018 represented 2,407 lei on average per person, an increase of 7.0% on a year before. The largest part of the costs went on food – 43.8%. Some 18.2% of the spending was used to maintain the home, while 10.7% went on clothing and footwear. Also, 5.1% of the costs was intended for health services, 4.6% for communications, 4% for transport, 3.8% for outfitting the dwelling, 0.5% for education. The consumption costs of the urban population were by 800 lei higher than the costs of the rural population given the higher incomes.
